Sivakumar to drive sales for Siemon
Siemon, the network infrastructure specialist, has recruited Iyer Sivakumar as sales manager for the Middle East.
Sivakumar will be co-ordinating Siemon's commercial operation in the region and will be working to build the channel to market for the company. He replaces well-known industry expert John Kellow and follows the pedigree of technical expertise. He is a member of BICSI and is currently working on becoming RCDD.
Specific aims for Sivakumar are obviously around increasing revenue and market share but he cites his priorities as expanding the channel in the Middle East and recruiting suitable companies to join Siemon's Certified Installer (CI) Programme. He also recognises the need to work with existing value added resellers (VARs) and building brand awareness with consultants in the IT market to influence end users.
Sivakumar joins Siemon from Dubai-based online networking distributors Westcon where he worked specifically in the structured cabling business unit where he worked with various vendors. His remit included responsibility for a set of territories - UAE, Upper and Lower Gulf, KSA - and Sivakumar built business for the company by selecting and supporting vendor partners to be specified into end user projects.
Prior to his time at Westcon, Sivakumar worked for a Singaporean systems integrator, again based in Dubai, and was focused on developing and maintaining relationships with major end user clients.
Sivakumar was elated at the prospect of working with Siemon; "This fulfils a lifetime ambition to work with a leading vendor and Siemon is certainly my first choice. I intend to use all my industry knowledge and understanding of specific factors in the Middle East's technical marketplace to really drive success. It's a very exciting time."

When he's not working in the world of telecoms or datacoms, Siva balances his life with 'the art of living' which he says destresses him. He is married with two children and as well as a busy family life, he enjoys reading and walking. Siva is also a self-confessed movie buff.
