New Siemon Whitepaper Dispels Common Myths About Screened and Shielded Network Cabling
"Screened and Shielded Cabling - Noise Immunity, Grounding and the Antenna Myth" was developed to familiarize network infrastructure professionals with and clarify misperceptions about these increasingly popular cabling systems
Watertown, CT — Siemon is proud to launch a new technical whitepaper by noted cabling expert Valerie Rybinski entitled "Screened and Shielded Cabling - Noise Immunity, Grounding and the Antenna Myth". This new whitepaper is supplemented by both Technical Overview and Q&A documents and is available at: http://www.siemon.com/go/myths
Developed in response to the growing global market adoption of screened and shielded cabling, this comprehensive 16 page white paper provides an in-depth overview on these systems including a technical exploration of their unique features and benefits.
For example: Did you know that Screened/Shielded cables offer 100 to 1,000 times the immunity protection from electric fields than UTP cables? This paper shows how even an improperly grounded screened/shielded cabling system has 10 times better immunity than UTP cabling.
Presented in accessible technical language, the whitepaper also covers:
- History of shielding
- Balanced transmissions
- Fundamentals of noise interference
- Grounding
- Cable design
- The antenna myth
- The ground loop myth
